KETONES

Ketones

Ketones are a volatile, flammable, water-soluble liquid. Widely used as a solvent or for the synthesis of plastics and paints.

PURE ACETONE

Pure Acetone, also known as Propanone or Dimethyl Ketone, is the simplest ketone.
It is a mobile, colourless, volatile and flammable liquid with a characteristic ethereal and slightly sour odour.
It is soluble in water, ethanol and ether and is mainly used as a general-purpose solvent and as a polar aprotic solvent.

The main use of this solvent is for the production of polymers, from the condensation of acetone and phenol bisphenol A is also obtained, an essential intermediate for the production of polycarbonates.

Acetone is also used in cosmetics and as a polar solvent.
It is used in the laboratory as an organic solvent and as an adjuvant for drying laboratory glassware.
Effective as an additive for varnishes, paints, adhesives and for dissolving some plastics.

METHYLETHYLKETONE (MEK)

Methyl ethyl ketone, also known as Butanone, is a solvent with the physicochemical properties of aliphatic ketones.

Widely used as a substitute for acetone in the paint field.

Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) is used in the paint, ink and resin, pharmaceutical and mechanical industries.

Also used in the extraction of fats, oils and as a denaturant for alcohol.

Suitable for cleaning instruments and washing mechanical parts.

METHYL ISOBUTYL KETONE (MIBK)

Methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) is a colourless and odourless liquid used as a solvent in many industries.
Widely used as a solvent for lacquers, nitrocelluloses, resins and some polymers.
It has low solubility in water and excellent stability towards acids and aqueous solutions.

CYCLOHEXANONE

Cyclohexanone (CAS 108-94-1) is a colourless chemical product with a characteristic odour.

Often used for adhesives and sealants, paint production, resins, and textiles.

It is also used in the processing of plastic materials.

DIISOBUTYL KETONE

Diisobutyl ketone is a colourless liquid consisting of an aliphatic ketone, used as a solvent for synthetic resins, rubber, etc.

Ketone is used in the textile and tanning sector.

DIACETONE ALCOHOL

Diacetone Alcohol is a liquid, colourless and practically odourless organic compound.
It is soluble in water and is also used for the preparation of other compounds.

Used as a solvent for paints and resins.
Also used in many consumer products such as adhesives, inks and agrochemicals.
Also used in the ink, textile and tanning sectors.
